Full Trip
Ephesus, Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis, Basilica of St. John
You will be met at Kusadas Port/Hotel and then set off on the ancient, spectacular road. We will visit the ancient Greek city of Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary, a magnificent place hidden in the green. During the day, you will visit the city's most spectacular ruins such as Marble Street, The Odeon, The Bouleterion, The Temple of Hadrian, The Trajan's Fountain, The Mosaic street, The Agora, The Baths, The house, The Great Theater, Harbour Street and the third largest library in the ancient world: The famous Library of Celsus.
Our second stop will be the House of the Virgin Mary, where she spent her last days, preferring to live in this remote place rather than in a crowded place. Then we will visit the Temple of Artemis, known as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world and built in a district of Ephesus. Today, one can barely see the remains of the foundations of this magnificent structure of the Hellenistic Age, made entirely of marble and filled with capitals and shafts of sculpted columns.
Our last stop is to visit the Basilica of St. John, where he is most likely buried. St. John the Evangelist spent his last years in the area around Ephesus. The basilica is on the slopes of Ayasoluk Hill. At the end of the day, after seeing and learning many things and marveling at how they managed to build such structures at that time, we will head back to Kusadasi Port/Hotel.
